An unidentified miscreant was killed at about 5.30 a.m. this morning at the scene of a multiple accident involving three trailers on Ikorodu road, Jibowu bus stop in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS checks at the scene of the accident revealed that a trailer with registration number LAGOS, AY995 LND conveying containers broke down and cused the accident.
It was learnt that at about 5.30 a.m, the second trailer loaded with Coca-Cola products marked LAGOS, SW 994 MUS rammed into the stationary trailer.
The area boy was said to be looting the Coca-Cola products in the second trailer when a third one conveying 7Up product crushed him to death before ramming into the other two trailers.
Eyewitnesses informed P.M.NEWS that the driver of the 7Up trailer sustained injuries and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
As a result of the accident, the bridge after Jibowu bus stop was closed to traffic which caused a serious gridlock on Ikorodu road and adjourning roads like Funsho Williams Avenue.
Commuters on Ikorodu road were forced to trek from areas like Palmgrove, Onipanu and Ojota to Yaba as vehicular movement became impossible.
An official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, at the scene of the accident, Raji S. Olatunji told P.M.NEWS that his office was informed of the incident at about 5.30 a.m. and his men rushed there.
The workers of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, were seen at the accident scene gathering broken bottles and other debris.
Similarly, policemen, LASTMA officials and Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, were busy trying to ease traffic flow as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, area boys around Jibowu and environs have gathered in large numbers around the scene of the accident. They were busy looting the Coca-Cola products in crates while the policemen ignored them.
