Community Leader Commends Nigerians For Voting Jonathan

A businessman and community leader, Alhaji Sikiru Siyanbola has commended Nigerians, especially Lagosians for voting massively for President Goodluck Jonathan in last Saturday’s presidential election.

He said the election of Jonathan was a sign of good things to come, adding that his victory would address most of the fundamental issues that have been plaguing the country since independence.

The community leader prayed that the unity President Jonathan’s emergency brought among Nigerians should continue as that would help them to achieve a lot more in the future.

Submitting that the peaceful and orderly conduct of voters was a sign of readiness to deepen democracy, Alhaji Siyanbola also appealed to the people of Lagos State to give the same support they gave Jonathan in Lagos State by voting the governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Ade Shamsideen Dosunmu as the next chief executive of the state.

He described the support given to Jonathan as a solid evidence of the desire of the people of the state to retain their unbroken link with the central government controlled by the PDP, adding that it was only through the administration of Dosunmu that the Lagos State Transport and Management Agency (LASTMA) and members of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) could be scrapped or reorganised in order to alleviate the suffering being encountered by motorists and market women in the state.

He also charged Nigerian youths and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to perpetrate violence during the remaining elections.
