Elections: Corps Members Threaten To Stop Work In Ogun

Corps members posted to conduct the governorship and state assembly elections in Ijebu East Local government area, Tuesday morning threatened to boycott work if their allowances were not paid.

About 150 of the corps members accused the electoral officer, Mr. Omishile, of the council area of not paying the allowances due to them since the elections began 9 April.

The corps members’s spokesman, Bayo Quadri said they were not ready to go on with the polls unless the money is paid.

The corps members said they were being owed N10,000 each, but the electoral officer claimed the amount was N9,000.

Security agents posted to the zone were seen trying to resolve the impasse as at the time of this report.
