A Lagos State High Court has declared Alhaja Basiratu Balogun as the authentic Iyaloja of the Oyingbo market men and women association, after a prolonged court battle.
In a judgment given by Justice O. A Williams in suit No. LD/3041/97 on 8 April 2011, in the Lagos Judicial Division, holden at court No. 32, Justice Williams declared that Alhaja Baisratu Balogun is still the Iya Oja of the Oyingbo market in Ebute Metta, Lagos State.
The court further gave an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant, Alhaja Sikiru Sule and others, from committing further breaches of the peace and acts calculated to disturb the peace of the association.
