Methodist Church Prelate Salutes Nigerians On Polls, Commends Jega

The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Sunday Ola Makinde, has commended Nigerians for the peaceful conduct of the ongoing elections so far.

He also congratulated the Chairman, Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, on his determination not to betray the confidence Nigerians reposed in him.

President Jonathan Goodluck was also commended for upholding his promise of one man, one vote.

The prelate who stated these during the 2011 edition of the Festival of Hymns and Songs organized by the Diocese of Lagos West, Methodist Church Nigeria tagged “Sacrifice of Praise,” held at the Opebi Circuit, Methodist Church Street, Salvation Area, Ikeja, Lagos congratulated Nigerians on their endurance so far in their quest for a positive, meaningful and constructive change in governance.

He urged them to further assist those in authority with prayers as well as demonstrate love for their fellow man to ensure peaceful co-existence at all times in order to make Nigeria a happy place for all.

He charged Christians to re-christianise themselves and avoid crimes and other vices that had hitherto eaten into the fabrics of the society.
