His Royal Highness, Oba Munirudeen Olatunji Yusuf, Oba of Onigbongbo, Lagos has congratulated the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for his landslide victory against his opponents in the just concluded governorship election.
Speaking during a press briefing in his palace at Onigbongbo, Lagos State, the Awushe of Onigbongboland said that Fashola’s victory signifies that the people of Lagos State appreciate the good work he is doing in Lagos and with this victory, the people expect more from him.
He said other governors should emulate Governor Fashola by stepping up their performance so that Nigeria will be a better place for people to live.
According to the monarch, “if Fashola could do such good work in four years, in eight years, Lagos will be wonderful. This good work in Lagos started during the tenure of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the former governor of Lagos State and now the youthful governor has taken over and he is performing greatly. We are all happy.â€
Oba Yusuf described Fashola as an honest, humble and intelligent leader who is bound to last.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to bring more amenities to Onigbongbo, amenities like pipe borne water, reconstruction of the Kuyasi Awushe market in the area to a standard one like the Tejuosho Market, etc.
According to him, the people of the area need a pedestrian bridge to enable them cross safely from Wasimi area to Onigbongbo and advised the governor to complete the Ijaola Road project in the area which has been earmarked for execution by the state government.
