Cally Ikpe Celebrates Live Beat At 15
On Saturday, 30 April, Africa’s finest Tuface Idibia, through his entertainment company, Hypertek and his management company, Now Musik, hosted Cally Ikpe to a lavish dinner to celebrate the 15th year of Live Beat, his music video programme on television in Nigeria.
Held at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the banquet saw the creme de la creme of Nigeria’s music industry in attendance to honour the man behind what has been dubbed the longest running musical programme in the country.
Speaking at the event, Tuface thanked Cally Ikpe for his consistency and support he has shown to Nigerian artistes through his programme. He later came back on stage with the full complement of his band to perform to the delight of guests.
Other artistes that performed that night included Sound Sultan, who anchored the event alongside Mr. Kool, Olamide, W4 and YQ.
High point of the show was the cutting of the anniversary cake anchored by ace comedian Julius Agwu.
Live Beat is a television musical programme that provides a platform for budding artistes as well as established acts and disc jockeys to express themselves.
It has featured music acts including the defunct Plantashun Boiz, Daddy Showkey, Oritz Wiliki, Daniel Wilson, KC Presh, P-Square, Jimmy Jatt, Ras Kimono, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, Charly Boy, Zdon Paporella, Mighty Mouse and Remi, Zakki Adzay and Baba Fryo, among many others.
