The newly elected member of the House of Representatives representing Somolu Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Ayodeji Jakande, has assured the people of his constituency that he would explore every avenue to bring the dividends of democracy to them.
Jakande, who was elected on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), said that since God had ensured his victory at the polls, the only thing that remained for him was to work for the development of his constituency.
The son of a former governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, made the remarks during a thanksgiving and mini reception organised in his fatherâ€™s Ilupeju home on Sunday, to thank the people of Somolu and Bariga councils for their overwhelming support during the polls.
He promised that he would sponsor bills to promote the welfare of the people of the area, especially youths, women and the aged.
He thanked ACN leaders in the area, including Bariga LGA chairman, Chief Dengel Anifowose, Cchairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area, Akeem Omoyele Suliamon, a.k.a. Oris, the current member representing the area in the House of Representatives, Oyewole Diya and others for ensuring his victory at the polls.
He said his emergence will certainly bring tremendous change and development to the people of Somolu and Bariga councils in the area of education, health, infrastructure and housing, among others.
