Star Quest Bands Explode With New Songs
The ongoing Star Quest musical show recently recorded a spectacular evening of energy, excitement and entertainment when the six competing bands put up an impressive debut live performance of songs originally composed by them.
The bands that had been performing songs by other local and foreign musical artistes since they got into Fameland, finally had a chance to show what they are capable of and introduced their music to their still growing fans amid high energy and laudable stage craft.
The atmosphere later became charged when each of the six competing groups also performed chart-topping track by international artistes of its choice.
The series of performances which kicked off on a high note, saw Harmonics Band mounting the stage first to blow away an eager audience with its first original song, Away.
The rendition which was greeted with much applause, was followed by a performance of Burn It Up, a hear rending song from the award-winning American artiste, R Kelly.
Storm Band which came next also sang its own originally composed song titled Make Money. The band’s quality in stage craftsmanship became evident when the second song, Umbrella, from internationally acclaimed pop superstar, Rihanna, was performed, to maintain the tempo that had been created by the earlier performing group.
The Extreme Band (DXB) got many jumping and clapping when it introduced its audience to a newly composed fast beat tune entitled Omo Naija. The group further succeeded in showing off its vocal ability and instrument playing skill when it took on Jordin Spark’s popular No Air, to the excitement of a screaming audience.
When it got to the turn of the Beat Band, its members revealed to the audience their newly composed piece tagged Rise. It then chose to relax the atmosphere a little by playing one of the hit blues singles from music diva, Celine Dion, known as I’m your Angel, while Bliss Band performed its own music entitled Love Na Wa, before getting everyone dancing and singing along to Lionel Richie’s All Night Long.
The last band that performed,  Golden Flames, went on to introduce a song dubbed Smile, before rounding off a splendid evening of entertainment with the rendition of popular Black Eyed Peas single, I’ve Got a Feeling.
As Star Quest 2011 swings into full gear, more original performances are expected from the bands, which will be used in their screening till a winner emerges into super stardom like all other editions of the music reality show sponsored by Star Lager.
