Nigerians, politicians and leaders have been charged to serve selflessly with their talents, time and treasures to the glory of God and to the well-being of humanity.
Lions International District 404B Governor, Senator Olusegun Bamigbetan Baju, spoke at the commissioning of a block of residence for inmates of the Lagos State Rehabilitation Centre for the Physically Challenged at Owutu, Ikorodu. The facility was built and presented by the Ikeja ‘D IVY Lions Club, under the president, Lion Adeola Coker. He commended the 1.3 million Lions globally for their efforts to improve the lot of others.
He assured Nigerians of the organisation’s continued assistance, adding that there were other plans to improve the lot of the society.
Commending the efforts of the Ikeja D’IVY Lions Club, the District Governor appealed to others, especially wealthy Nigerians, corporate bodies and government, to partner with the Lions International and other bodies to improve the society and the nation, especially in the area of service delivery, since government alone could not shoulder the ever growing responsibilities.
The Special Adviser to Governor Fashola on Community Development and Social Services, Hon. Enitan Dolapo Badru, while extolling the virtues of the Lions Club assured the members of government continued assistance. He promised that the edifice would be judiciously used.
