How Halima Abubakar Lost Investments To Kano Riot

Versatile Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, is definitely one of those that will not forget the recent political riot in Kano in a hurry. Not just because it was a mayhem that claimed many lives, but because her multi-million naira property in the state was razed.

The building habouring Halima’s bakery and restaurant located at Naibawa Quarters, Kano, was razed during the riot which engulfed some states in the Northern part of the country shortly after President Goodluck Jonathan was announced the winner of the Saturday, 17 April presidential election.

The four-bedroom bungalow popularly known as Godiya Confectionaries, was razed to its foundations by the rioting hoodlums on Sunday, a day after the presidential election.

This is said to have hit the Kogi State-born actress really hard that she collapsed on set when the news got to her and at the moment, she is only grateful for one thing—her mother and other staff who were at the restaurant at time of the incident escaped unhurt.

In a telephone chat with NollywoodReel, Halima said it was an extremely painful incident because she really worked to acquire the property and investment.

“It is sad, but what can one do? I only thank God that there were no casualties and only hoping on Him for better things to come,” she enthused.
