The success of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the last governorship polls in which Governor Babatunde Fashola scored over 1.5 million votes has been identified as the highest in the history of governorship elections in Lagos State. The figure also showed that Governor Fashola was loved by the people of the state.

A chieftain of the party in Isolo Local Council Development Area, Alhaji Hakeem Adelabu Soule, who made the assertion also stated that the election would be the first of its kind, where all the state assembly seats were won by the ACN without hitch.

The politician said that most of those elected into the state Assembly rode on the back of the state governor to victory and attributed the electoral success to the fame of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and commended his courageous leadership that led to the regaining of the south west states back to the progressive camp, where they originally belonged.

Alhaji Adelabu Soule also called on Tinubu to stop listening to the voice of detractors that paraded themselves as friends simply because of what they are getting from him, while advising him to allow internal democracy in the party so that people would be able to choose who should represent them at a particular time.

The ACN chieftain also called on the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to adopt Option A4 for the future elections in the country, noting that what happened in some states across the country showed clearly that the election could be adjudged free and fair particularly in the south-south and south west zones of the country.
