Fraudster Nabbed At Eko Hotel

For allegedly impersonating a guest at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, a man, Kelvin Ogar, 23, has been arrested by the police at the Bar Beach Division and arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court on a four-count charge of stealing.

The police alleged that the accused impersonated a guest of the hotel in room 907, Joel Jessy, ate and drank beer valued at about N2050 without paying the hotel on 11 March, 2011 at Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The management of the hotel reported the matter to the police and he was arrested and charged to court. His offences, according to the prosecutor, Inspector Gbemileke Agoi, are punishable under Sections 413 and 484 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 11, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the presiding magistrate, Mr. J.A. Adigun, admitted him on bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety and adjourned the matter.

The accused was remanded in prison on the orders of the magistrate when he could not meet the conditions attached to his bail.
