Woman Slaps Lawyer

A woman who allegedly assaulted a legal practitioner has been arraigned by the police before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The accused, Asabi Ronke Varallo, 29, was alleged to have on 15 April, 2011 unlawfully assaulted Barrister Paul Ogedengbe of Lloyds Chambers in front of Lion Building Police Station, Campbell Street, Lagos Island.

She was charged with one-count charge of assault, an offence punishable under Section 351 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 17, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and the presiding magistrate granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety and adjourned the matter.
