Community Berates Faceless Group
The chairman of the United Community Development Association in Isawo town in Ikorodu Local Government of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Mr. Abdulazeez Adeleke, has condemned the activities of a group called Movement for the Development of Isawo Town.
He explained that the group is working in concert with a land speculator who had been terrorizing and extorting money from members of the community for the past nine years.
Adeleke asked why the faceless group had not shown up for the past years to agitate for the development of the town.
According to him, “it is ironic for a group which is claiming to be working for the development of the town to go on the pages of newspapers to praise sing a man who had been extorting and harassing members of the community over their land.â€
He pointed out that the most annoying thing was that the faceless group branded the protest embarked upon recently by the UCDA against the land speculator as a campaign of calumny.
Adeleke noted that the assertion of the faceless that the United Community Development Association, UCDA, comprising of 50 Community Development Associations in the town has no locus standi to raise issues bordering on their welfare was laughable and counters the wishes of members of the community.
