Daniel, Maigari Missing On Opening Day

Chairman of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari and Governor Gbenga Daniel were absent at the opening match of the WAFU Nations Cup which began last Thursday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Apart from the duo who were absent at the opening match, some senior officials of the NFF like Mike Umeh, Barrister Christopher Green and other board members were conspicuously absent as well.

However, the opening match lived up to expectations as Nigeria defeated Liberia 1-0 to take the three points at stake.

P.M. Sports learnt that Maigari and other NFF officials accompanied the Flying Eagles to South Korea to take part in the invitational tournament.
