Ghana’s first choice goalkeeper and captain of the team, Joseph Addo, was at the team’s training last Friday. In this brief interview with P.M. Sports, he speaks about his expectations in the WAFU Cup.

How do you rate your performance in the training?

It was good and I want to believe that we are in WAFU Cup for a purpose.

What is the team’s expectation in WAFU Cup this year?

We are here to win the cup. We are not afraid of any team and that is why we are determined to stop Nigeria and other teams in the competition.

Are you not afraid of Nigeria?

Nigeria are not our problem in the WAFU Cup.We are here to play good football and make sure that we don’t disappoint the Ghanaians who are watching us back home.

Nigeria will play Ghana in the All Africa Games qualifiers, what is your take on that match?

It is going to be a tough match because we know that Nigeria will use another set of players for the All Africa Games qualifiers. Let them come, we are ready for them and I am optimistic that we will beat them in Accra.

What advice do you have for the Nigeria-based Ghanaians who are watching WAFU Cup?

We want them to come to the stadium to cheer us to victory in all our matches. We need their support so that we can lift the trophy.

Which countries do you think will play in the final?

I see Ghana and Niger Republic in final. Nigeria are not a difficult team. Niger Republic are a young team with promising players who are hungry for success

I wish you the best of luck in WAFU Cup

Thanks you Mr. journalist.
