Jonathan, Fashola console Nigeria’s Chief Justice

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death at the weekend of Mrs. Mimi Katsina-Alu, the wife of the Chief Justice of the Federation.

“The suddenness and manner of her passing must understandably be a source of great grief to you. You should however find solace in the fact that she lived a richly-fulfilled Christian life of consummate dedication and service to God and community”, the president said in a letter of condolence.

“I am also aware that she was a quintessential wife and partner, providing the needed support for you in the discharge of your onerous responsibilities as our nation’s number one judicial officer.“As I pray that God Almighty grants her soul eternal rest, I also pray that he imbues you with the requisite strength to cope with this very painful loss,” the President wrote. 
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has also expressed shock and deep sadness at the sudden passage of Victoria Mimi, wife of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Governor Fashola in a condolence letter to Chief Justice Aloysius Katsina- Alu said he is indeed at a loss for adequate words to console him over the most unexpected exit from life’s centre stage of the CJN’s wife.“Coming on a day when she had so wonderfully played her role, as she had done over the years, as a caring mother to all at a niece’s wedding and in such a circumstance, I am indeed at a loss for adequate words to console you over this most unexpected  exit from life’s centre stage”, he stated.

The Governor said while the widower and the members of his family would naturally be traumatized by the sad incident, he should be comforted by the groundswell of testimonies about her accomplishments as the pillar of support to the husband and everyone whose life she touched positively as well as the good Christian life she lived.

“On behalf of my wife, the Government and people of Lagos State, please accept my heartfelt condolence. May God grant the soul of the departed sweet repose and endow you and the family left behind with the fortitude to bear the sad loss”, the Governor prayed.
