‘Niger Are In Trouble Today’

Liberia Team manager, Sebastine Collins, is confident that Liberia will beat Niger Republic when both clash today at the MKO Abiola Stadium in the last group A match

Collins told P.M. Sports in an exclusive interview that the performance of Liberia against Nigeria motivated the team to go for victory in today’s encounter. He disclosed that despite the loss to Nigeria, the Liberian team are good, adding that the spirit of the players is high in the camp to take Niger to the cleaners.

“It is going to be a do-or die match for us when we meet Niger Republic today. Our 1-6 bashing against U-23 Nigerian team in Benin, Edo State, in the All Africa Games qualifier really exposed to our weaknesses, and I am confident that we are going to record our first victory today and qualify for the quarter final,” he said.

He said many soccer loving Liberians back home, who watched their opening match on Super Sports, commended the team despite the defeat to the hosts. He said the applause the players received back home will motivate them to go all out for victory against Niger Republic in the last group stage.

“It will be a disaster if Liberia fail to beat Niger Republic. The last time we came to WAFU Cup, we had a bad outings because we did not qualify from the group stage. I think this time around, we need to improve and tell the Liberians back home that the team are improving,” he said.
