Assemblymen Fete Staff

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, was among the lawmakers who celebrated their recent victory at the polls conducted in the state for the Assembly staff.

The lawmakers praised the staff for the major role they played during the just concluded elections.

Ikuforiji, who spoke on behalf of the lawmakers, disclosed that the Assembly staff have been of help to the Assembly men, most of who have leant a lot while relating with them.

While charging them to remain steadfast in their duties, the Speaker also promised the staff that he would continue to do his best for them and Lagosians, while also promising not to let them down.

Ikuforiji pledged regular training for staff and good welfare package as his priority in the next Assembly.

“Without the support of staff of the Assembly, there is little the legislators can achieve in the legislative business,” he stressed.

Earlier, Clerk of the House, Mr. Olatunji Taiwo, had announced to the staff that he would proceed on retirement in August and thanked them for the assistance rendered during his tenure.

He also disclosed that the security of the House of Assembly will now take a new shape as private security outfit would be engaged.
