UNIOSUN Happy With Pioneer Law Students

The management of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), have admitted its 50 pioneer law students have been living up to expectations so far.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sola Akinrinade, said so far, the school has no reason to regret admitting the students because their performance has been quite encouraging, adding that in a couple of years, the school is expected to be one of the producers of the best law graduates.

The new students are part of the 1,400 lucky students who scaled the hurdle of admission and took the oath of matriculation as freshers for the 2010/2011 academic session.

The VC urged the students to explore available modern facilities in the school to enhance their learning and research.

He also advised them to adhere strictly to the matriculation oath, warning that violation of the rules may put an end to their admission.

Akinrinade specifically implored the students to distance themselves from evil groups including cult groups and other antisocial activities that could distract and jeopardise their academic pursuit.

He added that they should be totally faithful to the matriculation oath and that as leaders of tomorrow, they should say no to all forms of social vices.

The VC noted that the school authorities had initiated a Graduate Support Office to enhance students’ future development, progress and growth, adding that practical entrepreneurial training has been introduced to add value to knowledge acquired and prepare them for future challenges.

He therefore appealed to parents and guardians to join hands with the university by becoming members of Parents Forum and play active role in its activities.

While assuring them of the institution’s readiness to give students the best in terms of quality service delivery, he said “the university expected students to also play their part and maximise the use of opportunities available to win the institution’s scholarship for academic excellence.”
