More Money For Grabs At Boska Cup

There are strong indications that the prize money of this year’s Boska Cup may be increased.

The winners had always collected N300,000 in previous editions, while the sums of N200,000 and N100,000 are given to the second and thrid positions respectively, but the Chairman of the Organising Comiittee of the grassroots soccer tourney, Dotun Coker said the sponsor, Orange Drugs Limited, is planning to increase the money this year.

“We don’t know how much they will increase prize money to, but I am assuring the participating teams that there will be an increase,” he said.

Coker disclosed that some clubs from other states have signified interest in featuring in the tourney this year. According to Coker, a member of the Lagos State Football Association, teams from Oyo, Ogun and Edo States will take part in Boska Cup this year.

The tournament, according to the organiser, will be played at the Astro turf of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
