Efforts by local and foreign journalists to chat with the two coaches proved abortive as the coaches hurriedly left the stadium after the match. The journalists were disappointed over the attitude of the coaches.

P.M.Sports observed that Siasia and his assistant were not happy with the outcome of the match, which saw the Togolese team stealing the show by lifting the WAFU Cup trophy at the expense of the Nigerian side. The poor performance the Eagles in the final was a bitter pill for Siasia and Kalika to swallow.

Throughout the encounter, Siasia was on his feet as he was under pressure when he saw his team two goals down before they came back to get the equalizer.
