Former Shooting Stars goalie blamed the Eagles for allowing themselves to concede two goals from their opponents in the 30 minutes of the first half.

“The two goals Togo scored against Eagles put our players under pressure. Eagles started the final on a bad note and by the time they wanted to come back, the Togolese team had scored their third goal to kill the match,” he said.

King blamed Eagles goalie, Sunday Rotimi for his poor performance in the final. He said Rotimi really disappointed him for performing below expectations. He urged the team coach, Samson Siasia, to overhaul the home-based team in the next edition.

Speaking on the Togo team, the former Eagles goalkeeper told P.M.Sports that Togo need to be commended in all their matches. He said their performance against Nigeria was no surprise.

“Togo played good football from their opening match till the final. All the Togolese players are hungry for success so I expected them to give Nigeria a tough battle which they did and achieved positive result,” he said.
