Alade Wins Coupe De France
Alade Aminu (208-F-87, college: Georgia Tech) has a great season in France.
The Nigerian forward helped his Chalon win ‘Coupe de France 2011 on Sunday. They outplayed Limoges in the Big Final 79-71 to win this trophy. The game took place at the Bercy arena in Paris in front of 14,300 spectators.
Blake Schilb was a key player for the winners as he collected 26 points and 5 rebounds. Alade Aminu also glowed, adding 17 points and 9 boards.
In the losing squad, Robert Hite with 28 points and 6 boards. Ronnie Taylor and Cedrick Banks had 17 and 12 points respectively.
Limoges opened the game better, making 18-22 lead in the first ten minutes. Chalon replied with 18-15 in the second quarter and continued with 20-14 in Q3.
The last ten minutes belonged to Chalon as well (23-20), what was enough for the final 79-71 victory and first trophy in the club’s history. The season is not over for Chalon, who looks forward to ProA Quarterfinals.
Alade Aminu joined Chalon last summer from the Miami Heat. He appeared 29 times in ProA so far averaging 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds.
