Ijebu-Ode Boils As OPC Clash With Cult Group

Commercial activities were this morning paralysed at both Oyingbo and Lagos motor parks in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, as some members of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) engaged in a gun battle with some members of the Eiye Cult group.

P.M.NEWS can authoritatively reveal that over five people including a mobile police officer were shot during the gun battle.

The names of the victims are: Waheed Sesuje, an officer with the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Oshodi Unit in Ijebu-Ode.

Others include Biola, Foster, and Kulodo who are members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and a passers-by.

According to investigation, the crisis has been on since the last three days resulting from the employment of some of the cult members to help chase away a member of the RTEAN, Akibu Titilayo.

Titilayo is the Deputy Chairman of the association and is believed to be very close to the outgoing governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The OPC boys, led by Nuru Adedeji and Alhalu, this morning stormed the Oyingbo Motorpark and shot several times into the air, sparking the crisis.

Dozens of policemen have cordoned off the area as at the time of filing this report.
