You Must Marry Me, Lady Tells Lover

The romantic relationship between Diamond Ibeh, 24, and 28-year old Kate Omeife has suddenly gone sour after Diamond discovered that Kate was older than him. He now wants their affair to end, but Kate insists that he must marry her because she has already ditched a man that wanted to marry her because of him.

Diamond had earlier told Kate that he loved her and asked her to bring some of her belongings to his house as a prospective wife.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Diamond suddenly developed cold feet and did not want to continue with the relationship when he discovered that Kate was four years older than him.

Diamond told P.M.NEWS that he asked her to pack out her belonging because his elder sister was coming to live with him.

He said Kate took offence and told him that it was too late because she had severed the relationship with her former boyfriend simply known as Friday because of him. This caused serious disaffection and fight between the estranged lovers.

Diamond was alleged to have beaten Kate and she reported the assault at Idimu police station. And the police went to arrest Diamond and later released him on bail.

Kate was later alleged to have gone to Diamond’s office at 7, Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos and destroyed some of his properties and threatened that she will deal with him if he did not rescind his decision about not marrying her.

When P.M.NEWS contacted Kate she denied that she was forcing herself on Diamond, saying that he knew that she ditched her former boyfriend after assuring her of a strong relationship.

She said she had exhausted her money because she was feeding Diamond before he started planning to dump her.

She also denied that she destroyed his property, adding that she only went to his office to collect the money he was owing her.

Kate is now facing a criminal charge at Ejigbo Magistrate’s court for malicious damage.
