Baale Appeals To Gov-Elect

The Baale of Loburo Town, Mowe in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, Jinadu Obisola has appealed to the Ogun State governor-elect, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to remember to fulfill his promises to Mowe.

Baale Obisola made this appeal while speaking with journalists in Mowe on Tuesday. He said since he became the Baale of Mowe 37 years ago, several governments had come and gone leaving the people of Mowe to their fate.

He disclosed that the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel disappointed Mowe residents and the entire people of Ogun State.

“Residents of Mowe voted ACN because they want to follow the change that is sweeping across the Southwest and be part of the good things happening in Lagos.

“We don’t want the suffering meted on us by the Gbenga Daniel administration to continue,” he stated.

While lamenting the underdevelopment and neglect of Mowe, the 94-year old Baale called on Amosun to give the area a good road network and repair the road from Ofada to Mowe.

“We need potable water and more transformers to have access to electricity supply.

“We want the governor-elect to give us our own local government and separate us from Owode so that Mowe can develop and enjoy dividends of democracy. I am assuring the incoming government that there is enough land to establish the local government secretariat in Mowe,” he said.

The only time people of Mowe got something from government, according to Baale Obisola, was during the administration of former governor of the state, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, “who gave us transformers to enhance electricity supply.

‘Since Otunba Gbenga Daniel came to office, it’s like we’ve moved from light to darkness. That is why we are appealing to Amosun not to disappoint us.”
