Ghe police in Ibadan on Sunday arrested a tenant for allegedly snatching his landlady’s car at gun point.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the suspect was a tenant in a block of four flats at Maku area of Isebo community in the suburb of Ibadan.

The building, NAN learnt, was owned by one Mrs. Felicia Oyedeji.

The suspect, who was said to have disguised as a woman by putting on a wig and fake breast in addition to a mask, had gone to the landlady’s apartment with a gun to demand the keys of her car.

He was said to have sped away with the Toyota Corolla car marked FT 354 ZMD.

NAN learnt that luck, however, ran against the suspect when he ran into a ditch in his bid to escape with the car.

The landlady was said to have raised an alarm which attracted passersby who arrested the suspect and took him to Gbagi Divisional Police Station.

In a preliminary statement he made to the police, the suspect claimed to be a former banker with an old generation bank in Ibadan.

He claimed to have lost his job shortly after his wedding about eight months ago and blamed “the devil” for his predicament.

The police spokesman in the state, Mr. Adetunji Ajimuda, confirmed the arrest, adding that the case would be charged to court after investigation.
