A teenager, Itohan Osayoniove, 18 has drowned at Elegushi beach in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The deceased, P.M.NEWS gathered, went to the beach with her friend to catch fun when the incident happened.
Investigations revealed that efforts by her friend to save her proved abortive as no one was in sight to rescue the drowning girl.
The case was reported at the Ilasan Police Station, Eti-Osa Local Government Area and a team of policemen went to the scene and removed the corpse to the public mortuary for autopsy.
P.M.NEWS also gathered that another boy got drowned at the Rita Lori Hotel swimming pool in Surulere, Lagos.
The case was reported at the Bode Thomas Police Station, Surulere and the corpse moved to a public mortuary for autopsy.
Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, warned residents, especially youths who cannot swim to avoid swimming pools, unless there are adults who will always be by their side in case of emergency.
