Handsworth Progress To Second Round

Handsworth Football Club of Sango Otta have moved to the second round of the Federation Cup.

Handsworth FC defeated Police Team of Markurdi 2-0 to earn a place in the second round of federation Cup on Monday at the Samuel Ogbemudiah Stadium, Benin, Edo State.

Quadri Fatokun and Quadri Aladeokin of Handsworth were the toast of everyone on Monday as both players scored in 15th and 50 minutes respectively to confirm their supremacy over Police Team.

Team Manager of Handsworth, Tajudeen Olasunkanmi told GSG on phone that it was a tough match for his team but thank goodness they came out victorious in the encounter.

He thanked Benin football fans for their support for the team throughout the encounter and urged the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to allow them play their next match in Benin.

“We got the needed support in Benin. I want to thank the Edo FA for their support for us. The players were happy about the victory and the club management has decided to motivate the players in order to win their next match,” he said.
