They urged the governor to compel all proprietors of private schools across Lagos State to register their drivers with the Lagos State Drivers Institute to undergo additional training and educate them on road signs and the dangers of overspeeding.
They also implored the governor to henceforth make it mandatory for private school owners to always demand for a certificate from the Lagos State Drivers Institute from any would be driver before they are employed to avoid a repeat of the accident.
Tunji, a block moulder around the area, who claimed to have witnessed the accident said he was trekking to his shop on that fateful day when the accident occurred.
“Though there were speculations of brake failure or that another vehicle hit the ill-fated bus from behind, my observation was that the unidentified driver was over-speeding before he lost control and somersaulted, and about two other vehicles crashed into it,” he said.
