Sex Starved Wife Seeks Divorce

A divorce-seeking housewife, Mrs. Kehinde Akorede has narrated how her estranged husband, Mr. Fatai Akorede, starved her of sex for three years.

In her petition filed before an Agege Customary Court, Lagos, Kehinde said her taxi driver husband refused to sleep with her for three years and also declined to pay the house rent for two years.

The wife told the court that she was seeking divorce because the defendant asked her daughter to pack out of the house in order for him to come back home after three years.

When asked by the court president what he did to settle the dispute between him and his wife, the defendant replied that he spoke with members of her family but nothing was done about it.

He disclosed that he gave his three children N300 per day for feeding because he doesn’t stay with them. “I don’t stay with them because their room is small. I stay with my second wife.

“I married a second wife because she comes home late and doesn’t listen to me each time I caution her. Even as a taxi driver, I come home earlier than she does.” In her response the petitioner said its true that she always come home late, adding that her job as a caterer was the reason for her coming home late.

After listening to both parties, the court president, E.B. Shokunle described both of them as irresponsible and queried the defendant for taking a second wife when he knew that he was not capable of taking care of a large family.

The case has been adjourned till 13 June, 2011.
