CBN Open Good For Me — Idoko
Nigerian junior tennis player, Emmanuel Idoko, says the timing of the 33rd Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Open Tennis Championship is good for him.
The annual tennis classic, which is a collaboration between the Nigeria’s apex bank and Nigeria Tennis Federation, NTF, is underway at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria and will end on Saturday, 4 June.
Idoko told Tennis Special that he is using the tourney as a dress rehearsal ahead of his European Tour in August. Idoko is one of the players selected for the ITF/Grand Slam U-14 Junior Touring team, that will compete in a series of junior tournaments in July and August in Europe.
According to Idoko, who was among the players named in the Nigeria’s Future Team by organisers of the 5th CBN Junior Tennis Championship, which ended in Lagos recently, the presence of top rated national players at the ongoing CBN Open, will give him rare opportunity to prepare for the ITF event.
