Baale of Onigbongbo community in Lagos, Chief Taofeek Owolabi Ganiyu, has advised Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola to give priority to grassroots development in his next four years in office.
Owolabi gave this advice recently while celebrating his 70th birthday in his residence at Maryland.
According to the monarch, Governor Babatunde Fashola has did tremendously well in the fist four years of his administration, especially in the areas of road construction and transportation, but more still need to done in the area of grassroots development.
“I must commend Governor Babatunde Fashola for the good job he has done in transforming Lagos State. Our roads are better now and transportation is no longer the way it used to be. Truly, Lagos has undergone massive transformation within the last four years and I must give kudos to Fashola.
“One area that I think the governor should concentrate more in his next four years in office is grassroots development. He needs to do more in this area by providing more jobs for our children, encourage local craft development and bring the dividends of democracy to the rural areas in Lagos,†he said, noting that since traditional rulers are closer to the people in the grassroots, the governor should partner more with them to ensure that the development in the state extends to the people at the grassroots level.
