Amosun Promises To Uphold Rule Of Law

The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has once again stated that his administration will not condone flouting of the  rule of law. He made the assertion this afternoon at a special jumat service held at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. 

Speaking after the prayers led by the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Sheik Imam Liadi Orunsolu, the governor said: “Let me state this again in a clearer term, I will not condone anybody that violates laws of the land.

Whoever does so will be punished accordingly even, if such person is a member of my family. “There is no separate law in the state, the law that is meant for the poor is also applicable to the rich.” Amosun further pledged that honour will always be given to those that deserve it. 

He charged everybody to be ready to participate in the new government. “I will not disrespect traditional rulers, religious leaders and the elders as they also have a greater and significant role to play in this government,” he said.

 Some of the dignataries that accompanied the governor to the special Jumat prayer include the Alake of Egbaland,Osile of Oke Ona, Onibara of Ibara and Olowu of Owu.

 Also in the governor’s entourage are the Head of Service in Ogun State (HOS), Mrs Iyabo Odulate, SSG Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), Alhaji Shuaib Salisu among others. 

The governor will be at the Cathedral of St. Peters, Ake, Abeokuta on Sunday for another thanksgiving service by 10am.
