Stakeholder Tasks Jonathan On Appointment Of Sports Minister

As President Goodluck Jonathan gets set to name a new Sports Minister, a boxing stakeholder, Oladele Pius, has advised the President to appoint someone, who has the love of pugilists at heart.

Pius, who is the Chairman of Miracle Beach Boxing Club, noted that there is need for Mr. President to appoint someone, who would not be a minister of football as it has always been the case.

He posited that if the squared rope sport must develop in the country, there is need for the President to name an a minister, who would give equal attention to all sports.

Pius said an ex-athlete should be appointed as the minister, as he would would know how athletes are treated for them to get the desired results.

According to him, “I’m making a passionate appeal to President Goodluck Jonathan, as he prepares to name Prof. Tahoreed Adedoja’s successor, to give us a green horn as new minister of sports; we want a person that would do everything to help all the sports move forward.”
