Trader Turns Lady Into Punching Bag

For turning a woman into a punching bag, a trader, Mike Agabubhor, 25, has been charged before the Abule Egba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos.

He was alleged to have assaulted Moria Animashaun by giving her blows all over her body and also tore her clothes, offences the prosecutor, Inspector Lugard Ahonle stated, were punishable under Sections 351, 341 of the Criminal Code, Cap.32, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

The charge reads: “That you, Mike Agabubhor on 25 May, 2011 at No. 5, Bolude Street, Oke-Odo in the Ikeja Magisterial District did unlawfully assault Moria Animashaun by giving her blows.

He was also accused of tearing the clothes of Moria Animashaun worth N2,500 and thereby committed offences punishable under Sections 351 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap.32, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate Owolabi Komolafe granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 and a surety. The surety, he directed, must be fully employed and must present his National ID card, driving licence, PHCN bill while his home address must be verified. The case has been adjourned till 20 June, 2011.
