Wristwatch Thief In Court

The police have arraigned a man, Taofeek Ogunbanire, 47 before the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a wrist watch worth N5,000.

He was arrested on 6 April by the police in Meiran, Ijaiye, Lagos following a complaint lodged by Samuel Adedoyin, owner of the wristwatch.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, Sgt. Rosemary is punishable under Section 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 11, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate T. Akanni adjourned the case till 6 June, for further hearing.
