An Abuja Magistrate’s Court this morning granted an order sought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to search all known residence of the embattled former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Dimeji Bankole.
As at the time of going to press, sources within the commission told our reporter that following the order, top EFCC operatives have been dispatched to effect the search.
The search order also includes the former Speaker’s properties outside the Federal Capital Territory.
Spokesman of the commisison, Femi Babafemi confirmed to P.M.NEWS that an order has been granted but declined to mention the court and the name of the magistrate who gave the order.
Meanwhile, Dimeji Bankole is still being detained at the EFCC headquarters while investigation into the alleged involvement in the fraudulent N10 billion loan saga continues.
The commission is expected to formally charge him before the court after investigations have been concluded.
Dimeji had earlier resisted arrest by EFCC operatives but later threw in the towel when the operatives refused to leave his residence unless he went with them to their office.
