The police have araigned an accused,Chibuke Erics Njoku, 26 before the Agege Magistrate’s Court, Lagos for fraudulently collecting N216,000 from Cosmos Okahone on the pretence of supplying him with plastic kegs.
The accused was arrested on 20 April, 2011 at Lewis Street, Pen Cinema, Agege. He was also alleged to have collected N29,000 from another complainant, Onyeka Okoye on the false promise of supplying him with kegs.
The prosecutor, Edeh Remigius said the two-count charge is punishable under Section 419 (a) of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol.2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria.
The magistrate, Mrs .T. Akani refused to grant him bail and was remanded in custody until the next adjourned date, 27 June, 2011.
