The Media Centre of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria came alive yesterday as the Nigeria Chess Federation, NCF began trials to select players for the Maputo 2012 All Africa Games, which holds in Mozambique.
The trials enters its Day 2 today and there is no doubt that top seeds are having a smooth ride as they won their respective games.
John Fawole overwhelmed the threat from Taiwo Folorunsho as he brought out the trait of a genius in the middle play to force Folorunsho’s King to surrender to a long end game, while Odion Martin dismissed Babatunde Aiyedero in 28 moves.
