Give Lagos Special Allocation, Cleric Appeals To Federal Govt
The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, the Most Revered Ephraim Ademowo, has added his voice to the numerous calls on the Federal Government to give Lagos State a special allocation because of its strategic position as the most populated state in the country.
The cleric made the call during a thanksgiving service organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in honour of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola on the beginning of his second term in office as governor and his deputy, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Ademowo, who was guest speaker at the Service, said in his speach, that the event was organised to appreciate God for His numerous and uncountable blessings on the governor and his deputy.
The cleric admonished the congregation to continue to offer praises to God on a daily basis, describing it as “an expression of our faith in God.â€
He cited America as an example of a nation that deemed it fit to set aside a day in the year to thank the Almighty God.
Ademowo, who also is the Dean, Church of Nigeria of Anglican Communion, described Fashola as a pragmatic and focused leader, a stickler for perfection, management consultant and a blessing to his generation.
He also described the Deputy Governor as a brilliant, humble, unassuming, hard working and grassroots woman and challenged them not to rest on their oars but strive to do more for the people that elected them into office.
The governor, who was represented at the occasion by his deputy, thanked Christian leaders for their love, support and prayers in their various churches for peaceful elections.
