Team Nigeria Hit Mapito 2 Weeks To Games

After series of delays in calling the Nigeria athletes to camp preparatory to the forthcoming All Africa Games in Maputo, the National Sports Commission has finally confirmed that the camping will open this month.

Speaking with 2muchsports.com, the deputy Director, Alhassan Yackmut said that the commission has put everything needed for the smooth take off of the camping in place.

“The thing is that the athletes have all been engaged in one form of camping or the other, which we call open camping, but this time around, the athletes are now about to move into closed camp. By the end of this month, we will be in closed camp.”

Alhassan stated further that on resumption at the camp, all the athletes would undergo a medical and fitness assessment to ascertain the level of their fitness ahead of the rigorous camping exercise. He said that the exercise would be conducted by the sports medicine department of the sports commission.

The NSC deputy director disclosed that the Athletes would spend about thirty five days in the three zones of the camp in the country before proceeding for a foreign tour.
