After several postponements, the 7th Oyo State House of Assembly will be inaugurated tomorrow by the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The inauguration is expected to take place at the chambers of the Parliament Building, secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria.
According to a press statement made available to p.m.news today and signed by the Chief Press Secretary of the Assembly, Pastor Lekan Kolade, the inauguration is scheduled for 10am.
p.m.news further gathered that officials of the house will be appointed tomorrow.
Investigation revealed that the inauguration was delayed as a result of the disagreement between the three parties, ACN, PDP, and Accord Party, which produced the state legislators.
It was alleged that shortly after the April election, Senator Rasheed Ladoja asked Governor Ajimobi to allow his party, Accord, to produce the speaker. The governor and his party, ACN, rejected the request and pointed out that ACN with the highest number of legislators should produce the Speaker.
This, according to a reliable source, made Ladoja to align with PDP in order to produce the Speaker and other principal officers of the house.
P.M.News gathered that ever since negotiation has been on to make Ladoja change his mind.
It was gathered that the issue was resolved this morning, paving the way for the governor to inaugurate the Assembly tomorrow.
In another development, workers in the state have demanded that Ajimobi should pay them May salary based on the N18,000 new minimum wage after which they can dialogue with him.
