Graft: EFCC Arrests former Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s Parliament

Honourable Usman Bayero Nafada has been arrested.

PM NEWS learnt from sources in Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC that Nafada was arrested today over the ongoing allegations into allegations of mismanagement of funds and the N10 billion loan taken by Dimeji Bankole led House to pay allowances of former members of the House. He is presently in the custody of the anti graft agency and will appear in court tomorrow, it was gathered.

Nafada’s former boss,  Bankole  was arrested by EFCC last  Sunday  and  presently in EFCC custody has been slammed with 16 count charges bothering on violation of procurement procedures and inflation of prices of goods leading to mismanagement of about N900 million.

The former Speaker is due to appear in court tomorrow for the decision of the court on his bail application.

But EFCC sources told PM NEWS that Nafada will be arraigned alongside Bankole on the fresh charges bothering on the N10 billion loan tomorrow.

The EFCC source said even if the former Speaker is granted bail, he will be re-arrested by EFCC operatives and arraigned alongside his former boss on the fresh charges.
