Corporate bodies in the country have been called upon to always contribute to the socioeconomic, infrastructure and human development of their host communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Leaders of Agidingbi Community Development Association, Lagos State, made the call while commending some of the corporate bodies and individuals that have contributed to the development of the community.
Chief Musibau Bakare, the chairman, said many NGOs, companies and individuals have been of good assistance to the community in the area of giving scholarships to their children and wards as well as infrastructure development.
Some of the organisations that have so far contributed to the development of the area include Rotary Club of Ikeja, Danzo School, Mikano, Eagle Paints, Boulus Gas Link and Cadbury Plc.
The CDA chairman who is the Ajaguna of Agidingbi, also appreciated the efforts of some individuals such as Mrs. Lola Akande, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Mr. Idowu Obasa, Chairman, Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area; Mr. Bayo Odulana, a member of the House of Representatives and Mrs. O. Akinyemiju, proprietor, Danzo Schools, for giving scholarships to pupils in the community every year.
He called on a soft drink company and some other companies that operate within the community to wake up to their responsibility and join others to assist in the development of the area.
Bakare thanked the royal father of the community, High Chief Nojimu Adeleye and other executive members of the CDA, for their contributions towards the success of the association.
