Man Kills Daughter Over Bed-Wetting

A 33-year old man has been arrested by the police for beating his step daughter to death. His currently being detained at the Ayinla Police Station, Agbado Crossing, Ogun State.

The suspect identified as Ayo, is a driver who resides in a room apartment with his wife and the step-daughter at 11, Falolu Street, Fadairo House, Agbado, Ogun State.

The name of the step daughter who is said to be three years old was given as Oyindamola and was said to be bed-wetting.

P.M. NEWS investigation revealed that yesterday morning, there was a misunderstanding between Ayo and his wife.

She ended up being beaten by the husband and had to be rushed to a hospital as she was bleeding profusely. Sources who spoke with P.M. NEWS said blood gushed out from the woman’s private part.

She returned home after treatment only to see her daughter gasping for breath and while being rushed to the hospital, the little girl died.

An eyes witness, who craved anonymity, said: “Only God knows what happened yesterday and they started fighting and he beat the woman silly. Neighbours then advised the woman to go for treatment.

“While she was away, her daughter urinated on the bed and in annoyance, the man beat the girl shouting that he would kill her. He also resisted attempt by neighbours to rescue her from him.

“Information got to the mother who was in the hospital and she rushed down only to meet her daughter in a terrible situation.”

P.M.NEWS gathered that as she was taking her for treatment, the little girl died.

The incident was reported to the landlord of the house and he called a police officer who is a tenant in the house to get Ayo arrested and handed over to the police.

When P.M. NEWS visited the house this morning, the mother of the deceased was not around, but it was learnt that the suspect had confessed to the crime at the police station.

Efforts to speak to the suspect were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
