Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State has been told to improve the welfare and upgrade traditional rulers and village heads in the state.

The monarch of Ojokoro, Chief Ezekiel Akinwande Akintounde, made the appeal in a chat with Lagos Bulletin recently.

He praised the governor over his achievements in the last four years and urged the people of Lagos to continue to support his administration as he begins his second term in office.

He, however, noted that many traditional rulers had not been upgraded for many years while their welfare was not improved. He therefore appealed to the governor to look into the issue and act fast on it.

Akintounde also advised government to provide employment for the youths in order to reduce crime rate in the society, while urging it to extend dividends of democracy to his community.
