Assembly Man Robbed In Ibadan
About ten robbers have stormed the residence of Kehinde Subaru, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ibadan South West 1. His house situated at Surulere Estate, Iyana Sheu, Ibadan was attacked on Wednesday morning by the robbers.
According to a source close to the legislator, the robbers fully armed with dangerous weapons stormed the house around 8am but did not meet Subaru at home.
He was said to have left his home very early in the morning for a political meeting.
His wife and children met at home were robbed instead. The robbers however spared his aged mother.
Carted away were N263, 000,( about 1000 pounds sterling equivalent) found in the room of the legislator, three telephone handsets collected from the daughters, wrist watches and other valuable items.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Okanlwon disclosed to our reporter that one of the robbers was arrested at Kolejo Area of Ibadan adding that he is currently detained at Sanyo Police Station, along Ibadan-Lagos Expressway.
Recovered from him was a pistol.Okanlawon debunked the wide spread rumour that the hoodlums were assassins stressing that their mission was to rob and that was why they did not kill anyone during the attack.
